Mull is a beautiful island- you can still spend a whole day without seeing another human being ,if you wish . There are castles, standing stones, crannogs and brochs. There is a narrow-guage railway, many visitor attractions, an Arts Centre (An Tobar) in Tobermory and professional theatre (Mull Theatre) in Dervaig. There are musical festivals throughout the year and new in 2002, a Children’s Adventure Project - The Quest www.holidaymull.org/quest.

The Isle of Mull is reached by car ferry from three different ports on mainland Scotland:

- Oban to Craignure
- Lochaline to Fishnish
- Kilchoan to Tobermory

Journeys can only be booked in advance on the ‘Oban to Craignure’ route .
Booking is advisable all the year round but essential in the summer. There is no charge for reservations .

The Isle of Mull has over 300 miles of road - much of it single track . There are regular bus services from Craignure to Fionnphort ( then ferry to Iona ), Craignure to Tobermory ,Tobermory to Dervaig and Calgary Beach . There are also some post-bus services . An excellent guide to public transport in Argyll and Bute can be obtained at the Tourist Offices in Oban, Craignure and Tobermory.
